This is going to be a little more detail then I would have liked to put out there... but sometimes you gotta just do it... and my son deserves a champion right now. He shouldn't be in JAIL, IN STATE PRISON on a PV (parole violation) for simply having his medical marijuana medication on his person.
He not only served his time, but now he's been wrongfully imprisoned (again - this happened on several occasions of which I explain some details here) and I will not just 'let it GO' this time! The behavior of the parole officers, the Keystone workers and everyone they all report to, all the way up to the Governor is disgusting! I call out specific facilities in Article I and Article II. And I'm just getting started. I will again state for the record, that in no way shape or form am I suicidal.
They can lie and say what they want on paper but ultimately, what happened and is currently happening is nothing short of the most very basic Constitutional Rights Violations; and #MedicationDiscrimination across the state under the Department of Corrections AUTHORITY (which falls DIRECTLY under the Governor) and Keystone-operated 'halfway houses' (or CCC or CCF - whatever name they want to call it now).
Not throwing people in jail on a PV (parole violation) saying "Oh well, 'you' got kicked out of your halfway house so you 'violated your parole'..." when the only reason you supposedly got 'kicked out' was because 'you' had your legal medication on your person...
But THAT doesn't seem to matter - and they'll work around the REAL REASON on paper (calling it contraband and such) so they can steal even more money from you or worse; perhaps some just get off on their power trips but I digress again!
I WILL BE SAYING THIS A LOT, I'M SURE: LEGAL MEDICATION IS NOT CONTRABAND!
One HAS TO ASK these questions when things just don't make sense.
Zooming out to see the bigger picture often leads one to 'discovering' how rotten things have become and greed at the highest levels is usually where you find the true core of most of these problems. Someone must be getting paid very well for all these 'shots' (sending someone back on PVs parole violations),. They LOVE PVs - like I said in article II I believe, it's low-hanging fruit for them!
GROSS, DISGUISTING and all those terms too!
My son is probably in the 'hard to place' category within the DOC. I'm sure he is because he's been thrown back in jail for being homeless on several occasions now. Might not say that on paper, but it's true! He will get to tell his story in full one day but for now, I'll give a brief summary of a few situations here so you, the reader, can decide for yourself if our state government is out of bounds. It's also to help people ponder what they would do if this happened to YOU, your child or someone you love.
Even though they (those in charge of his custody at state prison and on parole) know my son is physically disadvantaged (I would say disabled but he hasn't been able to get a stable homeplan to get a doctor and file for SSDI... he wants to work but is getting worse as time and his situation physically devolves) with severe chronic pain having 7 discs fused in his back surrounded by 2 very large titanium rods on either side of his spine...this kid's got major hardware in his back! He tries to work out when he can and does his best, but he suffers the pain from it and has hard times sleeping without his legal medications for which the state prisons are willfully withholding against the LAW!
He shouldn't have to suffer without his legal medications that actually helps him for multiple ISSUES, NOT JUST THE PHYSICAL AND SEVERE CHRONIC PAIN.
They KNOW he also has mental health challenges and drug addictions problems. They also know that due to all the above (not even getting into his intellectual challenges), they KNOW ALL THIS and still keep giving him 'shots' instead of actually putting him in and using some of the services boasted about online and in their testimony for an increase in budget for the FY-2026/2027, that are supposed to be available to him both in prison and out on parole.
Treatment Services??? What treatment services, I ask? Oh, that's right, Suboxone Time! Forget the LEGAL Medical Marijuana which is far less addicting, not an opioid and is PROVEN to assist in many, MANY medical issues and treatments. "Time to get all the 'higher ups' paid per head for each and every dose." Big Pharma has definitely got a hand in all this too, no doubt.
The so-called drug and alcohol programs are a joke and a cattle call! I'm also theorizing that it's tied to the insurance company fraud (probably Keystone and their networks up and down the pipeline and how they get paid based on sheer numbers: just like Big Pharma and their shots... per head bonus for doctors!) Try to use your common sense to zoom out and see the BIGGER picture here.
I'm going to theorize that when someone gets put into one of their Drug and Alcohol so-called programs, that more than one person gets paid 'by the numbers'. The Insurance companies aren't doing it for free and someone has to pay... oh yea, the taxpayers. But at what cost? How much money does Keystone get per head?
Instead of asking how much a PO may receive for every 'shot' given (or every time they send a person back to jail on ANY PV (parole violation), they may not operate on cash bonuses per say, but if you hold a contest for the most shots given on a month; or you have quotas (official or unofficial) in order to reach bonus time off or bonus OT pay increases - or you boss is just a jerk who demands you increase your numbers, then YOU are guilty of playing in that criminal system and YOU will be a co-defendant one day and trying to justify why you participated in ruining a person life, unlawfully. Karma reaches ALL!
Don't we the taxpayers have the RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT THE COSTS ARE?
I GET TO SPECULATE HERE, because every time my son got real close to finishing his REQUIRED cattle call state drug and alcohol program, he would get transferred for one reason or another to a new county and have to START ALL OVER! WHY? Why can't he get credit for his past time in the program? If he's clean and sober 6 months now (through no real program except his sheer will and determination at this point) he should NOT have to start all over.
More recently, and what led to my son being in that Keystone 'Halfway House' (or CCC or CCF) in the first place: He was kicked out of a so-called Recovery House in Luzerne County. He had asked his previous PO officer in Chester, PA (Delaware County) halfway house to get him into something.. he begged for help! (You get a new PO every time they move you.)
My son wanted help with his drug problem. He was getting worse and he sought help.
So they moved him up to Luzerne County into a so-called Recovery House (seemed like a real make shift group housing situation to me when I visited). However, he really focused on his meetings, his recovery and meeting all requirements placed upon him.
Considering his CRAZY schedule with the NA or AA meetings, weekly appointments for therapy and group therapy, parole requirements and general physical limitations, he couldn't find work easily and was told he could get a small reduction in rent in exchange for a political canvassing. He didn't feel he had a choice because otherwise, he would get kicked out for not staying up to date with his rent - WHICH HAPPENED ANYWAY... But not before he told his PO and was staying in front and on top of all communications.
The rent was $170 PER WEEK! The first two weeks were free but after that, he had to sell plasma to eat and give the rest towards rent. LITERALLY SOLD HIS BLOOD TO FRICKING STAY in this sham of a program.
IS THIS WHAT PENNSYLVANIA CALLS THEIR SO-CALLED DRUG RECOVERY PROGRAM?? Because that's some real shit right there... I'd call it a joke but it's NOT funny.
My son was told by the person left in charge of that particular house with at least 7-8 people at that time, if not more living there, that it was NOT registered with the state properly. I clearly remember because I was mad that they were charging him so much rent when he was supposed to be in a rehab or recovery type of setting - not just a group living in a house together and going to NA and AA meeting off site together. I was already suspecting something wasn't right but hey, it's PA and under the DOC so what do you expect, right?
Apparently the owner of the house (who collects the rent and made the political canvassing offers to her tenants) is friends with a Democratic Party candidate who was running for something up there... Now I don't think the candidate herself was recruiting people for rent reductions per say, but the lady who owned the multiple houses she calls Recovery House and somehow gets Parole Officers to keep her house filled, should have known the rules about political canvassing, just saying!
They proclaim they're trying to help people who are 'housing insecure' and yet they take advantage of the MOST VULNERABLE citizens. It's disgusting!
Next issue with the State.
NA and AA meetings are NOT something you can put a price tag on and call it an official program when they're free, for anyone! The state can't make up their own program on paper, charge insurance companies and/or the taxpayers pay for it... and just implement an NA or AA meeting as the 'meat and potatoes' and call it a Drug and Alcohol or Recovery program!
What a SHAM!
You want to ask for all that money (PA DOC) for your 'programs' then HIRE the PROFESSIONALS who will run a proper drug and alcohol program and rehab for those who need it under your care and authority.
I've got some really good ideas and a plan to reduce prisoner populations and actually help these people, especially the ones with hard drug addictions. It doesn't include ongoing Suboxone (they'll hate that idea) because Suboxone is now a big ole cash cow for (some)and probably generates a nice little profit (for some) now that it's 'allowed and administered' across the state and in all facilities and is protected under the very same laws that medical Marijuana SHOULD BE but somehow, isn't!
TAXPAYERS ARE NOT GOING TO CONTINUE PAYING FOR FREE GROUP MEETINGS AVAILABLE TO ANYONE, ANYWHERE, while you ask us for a steep price for it! WE DO NOT CONSENT! In the budget testimony it is claimed they have legit 'drug and alcohol programs' available. Then WHY isn't it available for those who have repeatedly asked for it, WHY?
Once I had to fight a county judge (and a state parole officer working together) who had originally put my son on this 'special supervision' which wouldn't allow him to home plan to a homeless shelter after he completed and served his time...(He was still stuck on this 'special supervision' )and in county jail and then [that judge] had to 'undue' what the did in the first place. He said so in court and on record!
I got to give the judge a overview and he heard me... we won, well, the public defender who heard my story and assigned a really good person to our case won and got him released (after the judge saw what a MESS he himself created - he was even very surprised when he looked back to see who originally ordered this type of supervision - so there must be more than one judge doing this thing to others). The state parole officer (or agent) was trying to get my son to be in there for another 6 months - he actually said it and argued for it in court - it was called a '6 month shot'. That was a major point of contention in my sons past because it was the first time he was sent to jail and held unlawfully AFTER he had served all his time and shouldn't have been on any 'special supervision' in the first place. He was held at Delaware County Prison until I got him out.
Prior to the court date, I choose to speak up at a local county council meeting in which the George Hill County Correctional facility was getting de-privatized. I spoke up about my son being held there (at that time, 'currently') sleeping on the floor for days and deprived of certain basic human rights; and the horrible treatment and conditions at that facility, at that time.
After speaking, I was approached by someone at the District Attorneys office as-well-as the head Public Defender who both gave me their cards and wanted to help. I'm sure there's a recording of that meeting as well.
You see, I do believe there are good people in the system trying desperately to fix it from within, I've met some. I don't believe everyone is trying to blow smoke up my ass and make a profit off the backs and blood of some of our most vulnerable citizens!
Another time my same son was wrongfully sent to jail on a falsified PV, was when he left a home plan due to him not being safe. He had developed a drug addiction and was trying to get clean after serving some time. He was released and thereafter, left a home-plan that wasn't safe because the other occupants were using hard drugs and he was trying to get clean. He was sent back to prison for not updating his PO (or agent) right away. He actually got sent back for cursing out his PO (or agent) when threatened with more jail time for not getting authorization to leave; but on paper, it's because he didn't get his new home plan at a homeless shelter ok'd by his PO prior to leaving. This is bottom level cruelty and just inhumane treatment, for anyone!
Is that something that ANYONE should be be thrown into jail for?
So, for the record, in Pennsylvania you can go to jail for leaving an unsafe home plan, if your PO doesn't approve it. Without their permission, even when you are unsafe, you MUST stay - is the message they're sending with that OTT egregious 'rule' of the POs. Just wanted to make that clear to anyone IN the system right now. BEWARE of PA PAROLE!
They MUST have quotas, bonuses or both. I have to speculate (and that is what this is...theories and speculations) but it IS also based on very real experiences that leaves One to wonder what the HELL IS GOING ON in the Pennsylvania DOC and other 'sub' - and contracted - agencies? One has to ask these questions.
Why would ANY PO want someone to stay in a house where other people are using hard drugs and the PERSON you're supposed to be responsible for, is trying to get clean and doesn't feel safe so he leaves because you [the PO - or agent] won't authorize another plan: and this person really wants to get clean? Did the PO even check the house before authorizing the home plan? I believe this particular (bully and disrespectful) PO retired and I was told by another PO officer after I made some noise, that 'nobody wants to die on that hill and loose their pension' meaning: giving someone an unfair 6 month SHOT.
The audacity to even show up in court and still try to argue for more 'jail time' is beyond egregious but it does show a pattern of abuse on our most vulnerable populations.
How do they get away with doing that to so many other people? That would be called, falsifying documents in my sons situation. Kind of like what's happening now, AGAIN!
That PO was truly an angry bully and I know because I had direct contact with him! At least he didn't even try to gaslight me like the most recent one did. He was more 'authentic' to his true inner bully than the two recent POS!
OMG..... I just realized why they probably tried to change the name of Parole Officers to Agents... lmao... do you see it? When you abbreviate parole officer in caps and are referring to more than one, you add an S... hehehe - P O S - and some very much are deserving of that title (POS) wow.
If parole officers (or agents) are allowed to give people '6 months shots' or PVs (parole violations) for getting their feelings hurt, then we need to retrain these folks right away - and perhaps, idk, maybe hold some of THEM accountable (?) and see how THEY like being thrown in jail in violation of their Constitutional and Divine Rights!.
The difference is: saying 'fu@k U' to someone is NOT criminal. Throwing someone in jail for 6 months for saying that... IS!
IT MAY BE VERY disrespectful, or it may not. It can be taken all kinds of ways these days... but certainly we ALL can agree that throwing someone in jail for a PV that YOU create, instead of upholding the Law, (like the state troopers in my sons case did by NOT charging him for simply having his legal medication on his person/instead of buried in the woods) and deliberately jamming a person up for a '6 month 'shot' back in the slammer' on a PV is the actual criminal act and really SHOULD BE punishable imho.
The POs across Pennsylvania shouldn't be allowed to operate like this... and it's been going on FOR YEARS NOW!
